Woke up this morning to find out our water shut off for work on the water line. This would have been fine if we'd been given advance notice, but I received no communication from the office. I called to ask when the water would be back on to find out it won't be until late in the afternoon, and we SHOULD have got a call yesterday. Ute, please use multiple means to contact customers in case of an outage and do so earlier than a day or less in advance!

I'd recommend to other customers to keep a stock of extra fresh water available so you won't have this nasty surprise.

They like to lie about having made calls to warn customers but they don't actually make them unless it takes more than one day of work apparently. Their lack of communication cost local businesses customers and money with their planned water outages. If we could go with another service we absolutely would.

I have a house I used to live in that I rent on airbnb. Ute was on autopay. The card that was used for the autopay was stolen along with all my cards. I updated card info on most of my many accounts but I missed this one. They said they emailed me a notice (that's the only way they let people know they're behind) but I never received it because they were missing a letter in my email address. Without any other attempt to contact me they shut off the water while I had a guest there. I refunded my guest for half of their total multi-night stay, as they were without water overnight. It isn't right shutting off someone's water who's paid their bills on time for over a decade with a single attempt to contact. Ultimately it is my responsibility but that's an unfriendly way of conducting business. It's simple to create multiple automated contact methods like all other utilities.

I was extremely frustrated to come home to our water being shut off while I was at work today. This is a service we have to pay for, and our family of 6 being inconvenienced without water for 4 hours today was unbelievable. What was worse was the lack of help I got and the bad customer service I received from Ute Water’s office. They assured me someone was coming to turn our water back on, but when I called whoever was on-call this evening after waiting for hours, he said he wasn’t notified that we even needed our water turned on. I wish our city used a better company to service our water.

Water bill: $100
Forgot to update card and number
Water turned off reconnect fee $50 1/2 of the value of my water bill are you serious ?
Lucky I have money to pay your extortion fee
It’s sad you do that to people I bet who cannot pay. Shame on you. Predatory fees at the finest.

Update: they are still thugs that care zero about you or me. Billing error led to another shut off 6 months later after that first one.
Glad we have a community water project like this

Excellent office staff, very helpful and friendly. I had excessive water usage for several months, Ute came out the first month on their own and found no leaks from the line to my house. I called the second month and Blair, their tech came right out. He even checked inside my house for me. Although no running water was detected, he suggested I have my toilets and AC unit checked. He diagnosed my problem! It was indeed my AC unit. Thank you all!

Not a good experience. Our water was shut off today while my wife and I were at work. The notice left on our door claimed that Ute Water thought there may have been large leak in the house. It was a toilet flapper that was stuck slightly open. At 4:15pm, my wife called and asked to have the water turned on. She was told that someone would be at our home by 5:30pm to turn the water back on. By 6pm, we still didn't have water. My wife called and was told that there was "probably a list of houses" that they needed to go to, to turn other customers' water back on first. She was told to wait another hour, until 7pm. By 7:30, I got home from work and STILL no water. We called a third time and were informed, by the on-call employee, that he was not notified that out water needed to be turned back on. It is now 7:45pm. We're having to use our bottled water to cook dinner and wash our hands, and no one can shower. This is absolutely unacceptable service from company that we have no other choice but to rely on solely, for running water.

Ute shut my water off in the heat of summer with absolutely no notice for being not more than 4 weeks late on payment. I've used them for over 3 years and have never been late. This for a 150 dollar water bill? No notice to shut me off they simply did. A knock on the door before shutting me off would have saved my children and I a lot of suffering but that didn't happen. I asked when it will be turned back on and was not offered any kind of answer.
